RE: OFWAM Assessment-S. 59th Street Springfield
Jim Donovan supervises both Lissa and I. He makes assignments for follow-up on these issues. I have copied him with
this e-mail.

Thanks for the information Mark. Is there someone I can discuss this with while you are gone?

Subject: OFWAM Assessment--S. 59th Street Springfield
Loran- I'm literally on my way out of the office for two weeks.
Our interest in wetland protection is based on an accurate delineation and assessment of significance. An OFWAM
analysis was conducted by Pacific Habitat Services acknowledged by DSL for all of the wetlands on our LWI. To the
extent that the OFWAM can be re-evaluated, the city is open to reconsideration of the original assessment if a new
assessment is completed by a qualified professional like yourself. I have not processed an OFWAM amendment. We
will need to follow whatever procedures are required by state policies. If we have local authority to make such
decisions, then we will work with your client to review a new assessment.
If the property is indeed properly classified as locally significant, based on OFWAM criteria, our protection program has
provisions for a variance that is designed to help property owners receive some benefit from their property.
Please update your e-mail address for me to read mrmetz"er@ci.sorin"field.or.us. Your prior e-mail went to my
brother who is a fire captain with the city. He enjoys reading my mail, but wonders what it is that I really do for a living!
