ORDINANCE NO.
5727 (SPECIAL)
AN- ORDINANCE VACATING PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR CORPORATE WAY
BETWEEN DEADMOND FERRY ROAD AND INTERNATIONAL WAY, AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Springfield City Council has declared its intention to vacate public right-
of-way for Corporate Way between Deadmond Ferry 'Road and International, Way; and
WHEREAS, such vacation is in the best interest of the City in carrying out its plans and
programs for the general development of the City; and
WHEREAS, lawful notice of the proposed vacation was published and posted; and
WHEREAS, the Springfield City Council met ir:a Council Chambers, at 225 Fifth Street,
on Monday, the 7th day of March, 1994, at the hour of 7:00 p.m., to hear any objections to
the proposed vacation and ~ persons appeared to object; .
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1: The Council finds that the legal notice of the hearing was lawfully published
and posted; that -D- objections were made at the vacation hearing' held; that the public
interest will not be impaired by the vacation of this right-of-way, and that vacation of said
right-of-way will be in the best interest of the public and increase the benefit of the property
involved.
Section 2: The right-of-way in the City of Springfield, as described in the following
legal description, is declared to be vacated:
A parcel of land lying in the Southeast one-quarter (SE 1/4)'of Section 15,
Township 17 South, Range 3 West of the Willamette Meridian, that portion of
'''Corporate Way" lying between the Southerly line of International way and the
Northerly line of Deadmond Ferry Road as platted in Land Partition Plat No.
93-P0421, said parcel being described as follows:
Commencing at the Northeast corner of that tract of land conveyed to Paul
Koppe, Jr. by that certain deed recorded on Reel 489-R, Recorder's Reception
No. 13999. said point being on the North line of the Abraham Landes Donation
Land Claim No. 45. thence South 0030'45" West 218.98 feet along the East line
of said tract: thence continue along the East line South 0030'45" West 652.00
feet to a point on the South margin of International Way, said point being the
Northeast corner of Parcel 3, land Partition Plat No. 93-P0421; thence North
8]047'06" West 963.16 feet along said South margin to the TRUE POINT OF
BEGINNING: thence continuing North 89047'06" West 80.00 feet: then~e South
0012'07" West 904.56 feet to the North margin of Deadmond Ferry Road: thence
North 89055'30" East 80.00 feet along the said North margin; thence North
44056"12" West 28.22 feet: thence North 0012'07" East 864.25 feet:-thence
No'rth 45012'31" East 28.28 feet to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING.

Section 3: The findings in the attached staff report (Jo. No. 94-01-15) are hereby
made part of this ordinance by reference.
Section 4: The City Recorder is directed to file certified copies of this ordinance with
the Lane County Clerk, Lane County Assessor, and Lane County Surveyor.
ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Springfield this 7th day of March)_ .'
