Ms. Carpenter: Thank you for providing your comments on this proposal. Your concemsl:will be fo~arded to the
City's Transportation Division for consideration, and addressed in the staff report and decision on the application.
Additionally, you will be sent a copy of the decision when it is issued. :;
As you point out, it is a challenge for one property owner to foot the entire'bill for street irrrprovements. Ordinarily,
paving and other streetimprovements such as a streetlight would' require the participation, of property owners on
Union Terrace to ensure the costs are fairly apportioned. However, some property owners may object to
proposed street improvements due to cost, or their preference for living on a low-traffic gr~vel road. I will discuss
the status of the street with the Transportation Division at the Development Review Committee meeting for this
. application scheduled on October 23, 2007. If you have any further questions or comments please contact me by
email or direct: 726-3784. Ii

This is Re:locatiion at 4733 Union Terrace Springfield/Assessor's Map No. 18-02-05-12, Tax Lot
1900. . I'
I have a few concerns about this property being divided and adding another home on the backside
~~~~~rty.. I
l.)The increase in traffic on our road that is not currently maintained on a regular basis.
ii
2.)Increased size of the current pot holes due to the road not being maintained.
Ii
3.)If the current property owner is allowed to build an additional home on this property,
who is to say that other' property owners on this street wont do the same thing?, 'If more people
build on there property like the one mentioned above who will maintain this road?
I understand that the other property owners do not want to pitch in to have al1paved road, Sid~
walks and street lights due the possibility of increased traffic, the cost that the home owners would
have to pay, and the fact that from my understanding they like the quietness bf the street. I
personally don't mind the graveled road it it was taken care of on a regular basis (which it is not)
I wish we could have at least 1 street light down here, but I know the cost of the street light is far
more than 1 home owner could handled, and we home owners would have to pay for it and I
understand most do not want to bear the cost of the installation. Ii.
With that said, I STRONGLY OPPOSE Luke Syrios's Application to partition his' lot into two parcels,
as I am sure he is not going to pay the cost to repair and,maintain the'road. I:
