Hi Tara-
Typically, any change of use or occupancy of a building or space will require application for permits and plan review per
OSSC 105.1, and section 104 (d) of the Springfield Building Administrative Code. In order to ascertain that the proposed
users) conform(s) to the applicable building safety codes, a code summary and floor plans detailing the use and occupant
load of each space, the exit access travel distance(s) from the most remote point(s) in eath space and the exit
arrangement must be submitted for review. Even if the occupancy classification does not change, the specific use
determines occupant load among other things, and requires review. Other details may be required as applicable.
Let me know if you need any further information,
