ORDINANCE NO.
5696
(GENERAL)
AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING CITY COUNCIL MEETING TIMES AND CITY
COUNCIL MEETING ORDER OF BUSINESS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD, OREGON, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: section 1-3-2 of the Springfield Code 1965 is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"1-3-2 Meetinas--Times. Council shall hold its regular
meetings at 7:00 p.m. on the first and third
Mondays of each month, except when that day falls on a legal
holiday, in which event the Council shall meet on the next
following regular business day at 7:00 p.m."
Section 2: section 1-3-6 of the Springfield Code 1965 is hereby
amended as follows:
"1-3-6 Meetinas--Order of Business. The order of
business of the council meetings, unless the Mayor
with the consent of the Council shall otherwise direct, shall be
as follows:

Section 3: It is hereby found and determined that matters
pertaining to the amendment of this ordinance concerning city
Council meeting times and City Council meeting order of business
is a matter affecting the welfare of the City of Springfield, and

that an emergency is therefore found and declared to exist, and
this ordinance shall therefore take effect immediately upon its
passage by the Council and approval by the Mayor.
Adopted by the Common Council of the City of Springfield
this 7th day of June , 1993, by a vote of
6 for and 0 against.
Approved by the Mayor of the City of Springfield this 7th
day of June , 1993.
