Special Meeting
MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF
THE SPRINGFIELD CITY COUNCIL HELD
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 1993
The City of Springfield Council met in a Special Meeting Pursuant to
Springfield Code 1-3-4 in Meeting Room 2 of Springfield City Hall, 225 Fifth
Street, Springfield, Oregon, on Monday, September 13, 1993, at 9:00 p.m., with
Councilor Schanz presiding.
ATTENDANCE
Present were Councilors Schanz, Beyer, Burge, Shaver and Walters. Also present
was Assistant City Manager Gino Grimaldi, City Attorney Joe Leahy, City
Recorder Eileen Stein, Development Services Director Susan Daluddung and
Economic Development Manager John Tamulonis.

Sale of Tax Lot #17-03-15-00 Tax Lot 3400
Development Services Director Susan Daluddung reported this item was the
outgrowth of the Council's direction at an August 16 Executive Session and
Public Hearing regarding the proposed sale of the property. The
negotiations of the proposed sale were completed and were presented for
Council consideration in an Executive Session earlier this evening,
IT WAS MOVED BY COUNCILOR SCHANZ AND SECONDED BY COUNILOR WALTERS, TO
AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE SALE OF CITY PROPERTY TO QUALITY
BOWLING CORP. CONSISTENT WITH THE KOPPE PURCHASE AGREEMENT, SUBJECT TO THE
CONDITION OF REACHING SATISFACTORY CONCLUSION OF THE AGREEMENT TO PURCHASE
THE KOPPE PROPERTY AND SUBJECT TO THE PARTITION.
Councilor Shaver commented he was supportive of the motion.
Councilor Burge commented that he would support the motion but continued to
be opposed to the methodology used to bring Quality Bowling into
Springfield. He hoped that in the future, the city'S economic development
methodology would be reviewed.
Councilor Walters commented support of the motion is proof of the city's
commitment to economic development and creating jobs.
Councilor Beyer commented she was also supportive of the motion.
THE MOTION WAS APPROVED WITH A VOTE OF 5 IN PAVOR AND 0 AGAINST.
