Chris Carpenter C.OH :<00<(- S.P-5 13~~ f~/~t If-/tP-o'1 Narrative- Response to SFD request for assistance of Building Inspectors at site of carport collapse, 21117th StreetSpringfield Oregon, April 16th at approximately 12:30 PM David Bowlsby and I responded to SFD's request to the residence to find a carport roof partially collapsed, The 5tructure was resting on the ground on the North-West corner, partially resting on a column on the North-East corner, and partially connected to the building wall on the South-East corner, The column on the North-West corner was missing, and the column at the North-East corner was out-of-plumb approximately 35 degr.ees, The structure was not in a stable and safe condition and was prone to further collapse, , Fire responders had begun to shore and brace the structure, Mr. Bowlsby and I advised the Fire responders on how to safely brace the structure so they could remove a trailer and ATV's, and then to bring the structure to rest , at grade, The structure was brought to rest in a 5table and safe condition on grade and posed no imminent physical hazard when we left, approximately 2PM, Electrical Inspector Guy Dixon was informed that some wiring had been compromised, and he had power to the building disconnected after investigating the site, No further damage was done to the dwelling structure during this process, and no other property damage or, physical injury was noted, This document is attached to COM2009-77777 site inspection activity 10, Photographs enclosed below: o. c:.. 1-525 f:J 2- ~~. .j, I~, 09 1,,, ;"';1.'1,."".: : ;".!' ;,l~Jij{i'rl'c~q"'h"""~ll.lO"1 ';,hl....~;.;;;.'i~.\:!i<" ... ~> - ~'!U~T~...~:I JJIrM~'~fll'Uit\'El!'lta!!!!I(~~ .I ~Ji,U.. ;.&,!~!:;!JlW.! ~~....~,.,JJlJII ~ilIl':h;J~""::..~..L':, ,.d,I11,.
