RE: 3997 Marcola Road, Springfield, Oregon
Dear Mr. Wilson:
I am writing in regards to your. letter dated July 21, 1998 requesting written confirmation on electrical
disconnect locations.
At the time of the original installation of the disconnects at the above stated location, the 1990 National
Electrical Code was in effect. The Code at that time stated in part that all disconnects shall be installed at a
readily accessible location either outside ora building, or inside the nearest point of entrance or the service
conductors.
Based on the above information, I eonfiml the following:
. The buildings and the transformers are under the single management of Eugene Water and Electric
130ard and their employees. Only qualified personnel will rllaintain and operate the equipment.
. There are two (2) main disconnects which arc labeled identifying the location of the building
disconnect.
If YOll have tiny questions, or if I may provide additional information. please feel free to phone me at 726-
3663.

RE: Hayden Bridge Raw Water Intake Electric Service
Dear Mr. Gadomski,
This letter is to summarize our discussion at the subject site concerning the need for a service
disconnect at the point of entry into the building. Based on our conversation, it was concluded
that a disconnect is not required at this location for the following reasons:
I, The service was installed at a time when the NEC did not require a disconnect at the
point of entry into the building,
2. EWEB, being an electric utility, can be exempted from this NEC requirement.
3. Since this is a high voltage service (12 KV), qualified electrical personnel are
required to operate it. The disconnect that exists for this service across the street is
adequate and EWEB electric personnel are aware of its location. An additional
disconnect at the building site is not necessary,
Please note if there are any changes or additions to the above itcms and rcturn a signed copy of
this letter as concurrence. Please contact me if there are any questions.
