Mr. Simpson: Please note the tree removal notice is for a row of trees that are on the west side of Gateway
Street between the public sidewalk and the mall loop road (generally between Roadhouse Grill and Umpqua
Bank). There are 8 trees inside the mall parking lot that are proposed for removal as well. The City has
received a proposal to relocate the Lane Transit District bus station to this location and that is why the trees are
identified for possible removal. I can assure you the trees behind your property are not among the trees
,
proposed for removal.
The City has to send out hundreds of notices to nearby residents, so the map and plan are often printed very
small as a cost saving measure. Unfortunately, it may be very difficult to determine the exact area of impact,
but staff are happy to answer questions and provide additional information when necessary. I hope this clarifies
, the removal notice you received. Please let me know if you have any further questions or would like to see a
more detailed map of the project area. '.

Andy: I recieved your notice of tree re'moval. I own a duplex on CloverleafLoop that backs up against
gateway. There are two rows of trees between my backyard and the gateway sidewalk. I assume you notice
pertains to some of these trees. ,
Can you confirm where the property line runs, either in so many feet from the center cif gateway, or, better yet,
so many feet from the inner or outer edge'of the sidewalk. I
My impression has been. that at least 1 row of the trees is on my property. Thank you for clarifying this. Clint'
