Bolts o{each size were installed in a Skidmore"Wilhelm tension indicator: Job torque corresponding to the minimum required tension value 0{28 kips (3/4") was established as follows: 314" 330 ft.lbs . 1/2" = 100 ft.lbs, ave. as per SSTC Manual After establishing tension values, a calibrated torque wrench was used to verify torque on the in-place bolts of the beam to beam and beam to column connections. Over 20% of the bolts were checked and will meet and/or exceed established torque values, Hardened washers were used. The turn of the. nut method was used to tightened the bolts. Bolt tensioning was witnessed by our representative. Also checked the field weldments on the access platform extension. The welds were checked for size, length, profile, and location. The minimum weld size of 3/16" was verified with the structural engineer (Mr. Ron Harris) by telephone.
