Report
Performed visual inspection on the repair weldments on the W8x24 knee brace stiffners
near the west end of the building. The welds were checked for size (verified 1/4" by
Coakley Engineering), profile, and location (welded all-around), and appear acceptable as
per approved prints, engineers instructions, and'the AWS Dl.l Steel Welding Code.

Weldments

Report
Performed visual inspection on the completed field weldments connecting the knee-braces
to the columns and beams near the west end of the 50' x 120' parts storage building. The
. welds were checked for size, length, profile, location and workmanship, Welds on both
braces were marked for repair due to undercut, porosity, undersize, poor profile andlor
workmanship. Dick Duncan (Springfield Forest Products) was advised and was asked to
notify our office when additional services are needed.
Note: Contacted Bob Coakley (Coakley Engineering) to verify weld size requirement,
Was advised that 114" fillet welds are required on all sides of both connections.
