CONSTRUCTION
1. Water Quality Swale shall be over-excavated and filled to final grade with 12-inch amended topsoil. Topsoil amendments shall be garden compost, not
conventional fertilizer amendments.
2. A biodegradable Erosion Control Matting shall be placed over the topsoil throughout the swale cross section, fabric shall be held in place in
accordance with the manufacturer's installation requirements. Anchor spacing shall be based on 3 ips flow over the fabric.
a. Treatment area - high-density coconut matting
b. All other areas -low-density coconut matting
3. .2.5.3 inches of2". i" river run rock shall be placed over the matting evenly throughout the length and width of the swale.
4. Plant materials shall be placed in ac<:ordance with the plan and plant table as shown on apPJ.'uved plans.
5. The water quality swale treatment area plantings can be deemed "substantially completell once active green growth has occurred to an average growth
of311 and plant density is an average of appJ.'uJ(. 6 plants (mi11imum 1 -inch plugs or equivalent) per square foot.
6. The facility shall be deemed acceptable to begin the maintenance period when plant irvwth and density matches the engineer's design as shown on the
approved plans and all other requirements have been met. The engineer must certifY the facility to be fimctional, in accordance with the approved plan
design to begin the two-year maintenance period.
MAINTENANCE
1. The permittee is responsible for the maintenance of this facility for the life of the facility.
2. Irrigation is to be provided per separate irrigation plan as approved.
Note: Irrigation needs are to be met using a temporaty irrigation system with a timer during the dry season. Systems should be winterized during the wet
season to assure longevity and guard against damage from freezing temperatures. Water source shall be as shown on the approved plans.
3. Engineer or Owners Representative is to visit and evaluate the site a minimum of twice annually (Spring and Fall). The landscaping shall be evaluated
and replanted as necessary to ensure a minimum of 80% sUlVival rate of the required vegetation and 90% aerial coverage. Non-native, invasive plant
species shall be removed when occupying more than 20% of the site.
4. The facility shall be re-excavated and planted if siltation greater than 3 inches in depth occurs within the two-year maintenance period.

General Notes

1. Prior to any ground disturbance on the site one inspection with LDAP stoff is required. Issuance of this plan does not relieve the
permit holder and or the contractor from all other permitting requirements. Prior to beginning construction activities, 011 other
necessary approvals shall be obtained.
2. The erosion and sediment control measures shown on the plan are the minimum requirements for anticipated site conditions. During
the construction period, these measures shall be upgraded as needed for unexpected storm events and to ensure that sediment and
sediment-laden water does not leave the site.
3. The implementation of the ESCP and the construction, maintenance, replacement, and upgrading of the erosion and sediment
control measures is the responsibility of the permit holder and or the contractor until 011 construction is completed and accepted and
vegetation / landscaping is established.
4. The boundaries of the clearing limits shown on this plan shall be clearly flagged tn the field by the engineer prior to construction.
During the construction period, no disturbance beyond the flagged clearing limits shall be permitted. The flagging shall be maintained
by the permit holder and or the contractor for the duration of construction.
5. The erosion and sediment control measures on active sites shall be inspected and maintained dally and within the 24 hours after
any storm event of greater than 0.5 inches of rain per 24 hour period. Measures shall be inspected by the permit holder and or the
contractor after each rainfall and at least daily during prolonged rainfall. Any required repairs or adjustments shall be made
immediately. The erosion and sediment control measures on inactive sites sholl be inspected 0 minimum of once every two (2) weeks
or within 48 hours following a storm event.
6. All erosion and sediment control measures shall be protected from damage at 011 times. Control measures shall remain in place
until permanent re-vegetation hos been stabilized. Any measure that is damoged or destroyed sholl be repaired or replaced
immediately.
7. Any areas of exposed soils, including roadway embankments, that will not be disturbed for two days during the wet season (October
1 to April 30) or seven days during the dry season (May 1 to September 30) sholl be immediately stabilized with on approved ESe
method (seeding & mulching with straw, bark, compost, or plastic covering, ect.).
8. Street sweeping shalt be performed os needed or when directed by the City inspector to insure public right-ofways ore kept clean
and free of debris. Street flushing is prohibited.
9. When trucking saturated soils from the site, either water-tight trucks sholl be used or foods sholl be drained on site until dripping
has been reduced to no more than one gallon per hour. Sediment laden water will not be allowed to enter the storm water system
10. Extracted ground water from excavated trenches shall be disposed of in 0 suitable manner without damage to adjacent property,
City's storm water system. water features, and related natural resources. Approval of a dewatering system does not guarantee that it
will meet compliance or be acceptable for use in all situations. Modifications to the dewatering system wlll be required if compliance
can not be met. At no time will sediment laden water be allowed to leave the construction site.
