Report
Performed continuous special inspection on two (2) pipe sP.lice, weldments for the drivewaY~'
canopy remodel. The existing 14" (.250) wall thickness x 10" diameter pipe was extended
6'-0 3/S" using new ASTM A-500. GRB 3/S" (375) wall thickness x 10" diameter pipe. The
specifications .(type and grade) of the new added material was verifiable by contractor
supplied certifications. An A WS pre-qualified joint (B-U2A) configuration was used and
appear to conform to allowable as 'fit up tolerances specified with in the code. Welding was
performed with the SMAW process using E70lS electrodes. The joint fit-up and each
succeeding pass was cleaned and inspected with no rejectable discontinuities being observed
or noted at any hold point throughout the welding process. The completed weldments
-appear to the best of the inspector's knowlt:dge to conform to the approved prints, UBC and
AWS Dl.1-94. J
