No.: Type of Inspection: Z4175LD Soils Observation BP# COM2008-01S9S Weather:' Clear Field Observations and Comments On site to observe exposed subgrade soils/standing water for the truck ramp. The footing excavation was cut to grade and the water was above that elevation. A soil probe was used to assist us in determining the stability of the in-place soils. Soil probe penetrations were only 4 to.6 inches indicating a relatively firm stable subgrade. However, in orger to place and compact the one-foot of rock that is required under the footings, the water level would need to be below the excavation depth. We recommend pumping 1he water out and keeping it low enough until the rock has been placed, compacted, and test~d. We also recommend placing a foundation drain around the footi~g. To the best of our knowledge, the work inspected was in accordance with the building department approved design drawings, specifications and applicable workmanship provisions of the International Building Code. No.: Type of Inspection: Z4175LD Epoxy/Welding BP# COM2008-01595 Wealher:- Inside Field Observations and Comments As requested a PSI representative was on-site to inspect the following: 1) Epoxy anchored bolts for the door opening at gridline F at 7 (detail 2/S1). The 5/8" diamter all thread rods were 14" long and embedded a minimum of 5" vertically into the lintel. Three all thread rods were installed using Hilti Hit HY 150 epoxy with an ICC# 5193. 2) Exposed subgrade soils for the interior truck ramp. Exposed soils visually appeared to be native black and brown clay. Soil probe penetrations ranged in depth from 3 to 4 inches indicating a relatively firm, stable subgrade at this time. Both footing and slab subgrade soils were observed. Each area is scheduled to receive a minimum of 12" of imported crushed rock. Rock will be tested after it has been compacted. 3) Single Pass welds for door frames at gridline F at 7 and E.5 at 9. Welds were inspected for size, length, profile and location. To the best of our knowledge, the work inspected was in accordance with the building department approved design drawings, specifications and applicable workmanship provisions of the AWS D1.1 Code. Prior to Installation the predrilled holes were cleaned using a nylon brush and compressed air. Verified minimum embedment depth of 5 inches for the 5/8" and 6 3/3" for the 3/4". The above listed epoxy anchors were installed using Hiltl Hit HY 150. Contractor stated the nuts would be tightened after epoxy has cured.
