RE: 16148" Streel. Soringfield - Site Soils Investigation - Job# 52-08
As you requested, a site soil's inspection was performed concerning the above-named address on February7,
2008, The site consists of brown top soil with a United Classification ofML-CL OVer native clay with a
Unified Classification of CH. The top soil has a low to moderate potential for expansion and the clay has a high
potential for expansion. The design for the site is as follows,
The site is to be excavated to allow for a minimum of 12 inches crushed rock to be installed. The crushed rock is
to be installed with tracked excavation equip,:"ent and compacted with a vibratory compactor" Footing drains
shall be placed adjacent to the foundation and connected to an approved outflow, The backfill adjacent to the
foundation is to be sloped away from the foundation for a minimum of 5 feet with a 2% gradient,
On February 11, 2008, a compaction inspection was performed on the crushed rock in/talled at the site. The,
minimum depth orthe 1 Y," minus crushed rock is 12 inches, The compaction of the crushed is greater than 95%
of a standard Procter per ASTM 0698, An allowable soil bearing pressure of 1500 psf can be used in the design
of the foundation,
The excavation is of adequate depth, and with the, installation of the crushed rock, to maintain soil moisture of
the expansive soil to minimize the effects expansive soils on the structure at this site,
