Parks and recreation - After annexation to the City of Springfield, the subject property will be
within the Willamalane Park and Recreation' District boundary. City residents receive park and
recreation services from the District. The District operates two aquatic centers, a Community
Center, an Adult Activity Center, and 32 parks containing a variety of outdoor recreational
amenities. Currently, there are two parks located in the vicinity of the annexation area:
Bluebelle Park, a 2.5S-acre neighborhood park located at S. 50th Place and BluebelleWay, and
Volunteer Park, a 4.4-acre neighborhood park on Holly Street at S. 43rd Street. By early 200S, a
new neighborhood park will be developed in the Jasper Meadows subdivision on S. 57th Street
near Mt. Vernon Road. Other nearby recreational opportunities include the Lively Swim Center
