RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Springfield Municipal Code Section 4.432 provides that the collector of
garbage shall collect yard debris in customer supplied containers, bags or bundles; and
WHEREAS, Springfield Municipal Code Section 4.432 provides that the total number of
bundles collected for any residential site shall not exceed five; and
WHEREAS, Springfield Municipal Code Section 4.408(2) provides that the maximum
rates to be charged for the collection of garbage and refuse shall be set by resolution of the
Council; and
WHEREAS, staff have advised the Council that the fair and reasonable rate to be
charged for the collection of yard debris is $4 for the first bundle and $1 for each additional
bundle, but not to exceed five bundles; and
WHEREAS, based upon information supplied by the collector of garbage and
information provided by staff, the Council has, and by this resolution hereby does determine that
the fair and reasonable rate for the collection of yard debris is $4 for the first bundle and $1 for
. each subsequent bundle;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the rate to be charged by the collector
of garbage for the collection of yard debris is hereby fixed at $4 for the first bundle and $1 for
each subsequent bundle. .
