CERTIFIED LETTER Keith Edwards 2595 F Street Springfield, Oregon 97478 RE: Permit Extension Request Dear Mr. Edwards: I am writing in regards to younequest for an extension of your permits to remodel an existing 2nd story to your residence located at 2595 F Street, Springfield, Oregon, City Job Number Com2005- 01293. Every permit issued by the Building Official under the provisions of the Specialty Codes shall expire by limitation and become null and void, if the building or work authorized by such permits is not commenced within 180 days from the date of such permit, or if the building or work authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned at any time after the work is commenced for a period of 180 days. Before such work can be recommenced, a new permit shall be first obtained, and the fee therefore shall be one half the amount required for a new permit for such work, provided no changes have been made or will be made in the original plans and specifications for work; and provided further that such suspension or abandonment has not exceeded one year. Our records indicate you have not been able to show progress on your project since your last requested inspection dated December 5, 2007, with the result of that inspection l)eing "Information Only". Over the past three years, we have notified you on at least seven (7) occasions reminding you your permit was about to expire. After most letters, you have requested inspections however the majority of the results of those inspections have been "Unable to gain Entry", "Not Ready", or, "Information Only". None of which provides the required progress on the project to keep your permits active. Your permit is now expired as I am unable to grant an extension for you. To complete the project, new permit Jees must be paid and work must commence within the next 30 days. If you cannot show progress on your project on or prior to this date, your file will be turned over the Code Enforcement for the possible issuance of a citation.
