Drinking Water Protection Plan
Sarah-
In response to your note to Sooz regarding 28th St. drainage, please note that all 17 drainage basins in
the City will be included in the Urban Watershed Manaoement Plan, when complete,
Presently, the Stormwater Facilities Master Plan effort is on hold pending the hiring of the Water
Resources Civil Engineer, who will be the point person for that effort, That will not likely proceed until
much later this year, and is anticipated to be a multi, year effort, Our Urban Watershed Management Plan
will likely be drafted this fall or late summer, and finalized this winter, I am presently worKing thru some
preliminary steps on this project.
The '28th St. Basin' is actually the Jasper and Mill Race basins, both of which contribute to the Mill Race
above Gorry Creek, The Jasper,Natron basin, some of which lies outside the City Limits, contributes to
the Will. River upstream of the inlet for the Mill Race, so it, too, could be considered a contributor,
'Included in the Plan' seems a bit 'squishy'; the whole city is 'included in the plan', but there presently is no
special consideration for the SUB DWP plan, The information you gave me earlier, regarding the plan,
was that there were no special considerations associated with our 'buy in' to this plan, Has that changed?
If so, in what ways?
Hope this answers your concerns, Please let me know if we have additional considerations to work with
concerning the DWPP before we get our planning docs cranked up, Otherwise, I:m taking you at your
word that this is not an issue for,Water Resources section,
Thanks
Chuck
