Dear Ms. Trotter & Mr. Keating:
The Springfield Development Code (31.020(b )2) requires Site Plan Review for an
addition or expansion over 50 percent of the existing building gross floor area or an
addition that is 5,000 square feet or more. A building permit and Minimum Development
Standards Review application were submitted for a 4,162 square foot addition to 553
Main Street, Springfield:
Although the addition is less than 5,000 square feet, it is greater than 50% of the existing
square footage listed at 4,000 square feet. This proposal required a Site Plan Review
application to be submitted.
A refund of the Minimum Development Standards application fee will be processed upon
a written request from the property o~ner to withdraw the application.
