Dear Duane:
I have prepared a ballpark cost estimate for providing underground electric facilities between
pole 51138 to pole 55120 to serve your project located at 3600 Garden Ave. This estimate is
based on the information and site plans you have submitted. Your development charge for this
project is $19,450:00. An allowance of $8,550.00 has been deducted from the full charge of
. $28,000.00 because you have indicated your intent to provide the trench and install the conduit,
mule tape and pedestals to the Springfield Utility Board's specifications. 'Note' - This estimate
does not cover the development charges associated with the future build out of parcel #2 and
parcel #3. This estimate does cover the labor and material cost for setting a junction box on the
property line of parcel #2 & #3 and energizing the junction box. It also includes the cost
undergrounding your neighbor's overhead service located at 3677 Garden Ave. You will need to
contact Owest and Com cast for transferring their facilities underground and there may be
additional charges from them to accomplish this.
This ballpark estimate is firm for a period of three months, provided that the information and site
plans you have submitted are not changed in any way, and that you sign a construction
agreement with us to proceed with the project.

to proceed with undergrounding the overhead lines. .

Hi Andy & Steve, .
I was off last week so I am just catching up with all my jobs. I worked with Duane on serving the new
house located on parcel 1 last year. The transformer was upgraded and the new house has
underground power. Later in the year Duane asked for an estimate to remove the overhead lines from
parcels 2 & 3 and underground the overhead facilities (see word document for ballpark estimate). The
DRe's for. providing power to parcel 2 & 3 were not included in this ballpark estimate and that was
stated in the letter. At this time there is no electric power to parcel 2 & 3 and no estimate has been
requested to bring power into these parcels. I have had no contact with Duane since July 2007 so I do
not know if Duane intends to proceed with removing the existing poles or if the poles are to remain
and underground dips are going to be used to serve parcel 2 & 3. There is no mention of any
requirements to underground electric utilities in the written statement for the final partition plat
application. Could you please clarify the electric requirements necessary for this partition? I plan on
attending the meeting tomorrow. Thank you for your help with this!
