Performed inspection on the reinforcing steel in the column pedestals at lines C20 thru
C26, Rebar was checked for size, grade, iap, quantity, spacing, clearance and
supports, Anchor bolts and vertical rebar were secured in previously placed footing
concrete,
, Observed placement of 2,5 yards of Eugene Sand and Gravel 3000 psi concrete,
Concrete was placed directly from truck and was mechanically consolidated, Cast four
(4) 4" x 8" compressive strength cylinders and performed field tests as follows: slump-
3 1/2"; concrete temperature- 63F; air temperature- 50F, Mark Abeyta (Brown
Contracting) was advised and was asked to notify our office when additional services
are needed,
To the best of our knowledge, the work inspected was in accordance with plans dated
03-12,08 and applicable workmanship provisions of the I.B,C" except if noted above,

09-26-08- Met on-site with Adam Hughes (Brown Contracting) to observe exposed
subgrade soils in the previous landscape island area directly east of the southeast
mall entrance, Area has been cleared of vegetation and cut to proposed finished
subgrade approximateiy 13" below existing surrounding pavement grades,
Exposed materials appear relatively firm and stable, at this time, Mr. Hughes stated
placement of fabric and crushed rock base course would begin later today,
(Weather: overcasU61 "),
09-29-08- Observed exposed subgrade soils in two (2) previous landscape islands
near Umpqua Bank, and one (1) area south of lines C28, Soils appear firm and
stable with the following exceptions: very soft unstable soils were encountered at
the southwest corner of the area west of the bank building, and in the northeast
corner of the area west of the bank drive-up lane, Both areas were over excavated
to between 6 and 12 inches below proposed subgrade elevation, Dennis Cacn
(Brown Contracting) was advised that fabric and rock placement operations can
now proceed in all three (3) areas observed this date, (Weather: overcasU71 ").
10-02-08- Observed completed fcioting excavations at lines C37 and AS thru A1S,
With the exception of A6, soils at base of excavation are firm and stable, at this
time, Mr, Cacn was advised to excavate additional material from A6 excavation
(anticipated to be 6" to 12") to ensure previous fill and man-made debris is removed
and footing will bear on firm, stable soiis, Mr, Cacn was asked to notifiy our office
when remaining excavations are completed, (Weather: clear/60"),
