Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS 222.520) require that territory located in the Rainbow Water District, which is annexed to the City of Springfield, be withdrawn from that district to prevent double taxation, ORS requires withdrawal prior to March 31" of each calendar year. The owner requested annexation in order to develop the property for urban use. The subject property was annexed, to the City of Springfield effective on July 30,2007.' Parks system development charges Will be issued for new residential develoPment, occurring within, the annexation area. Emergency medical transport (ambulance) services are provided on a regional basis by Eugene, Springfield, and Lane Rural FrreJRescue to central Lane County, The annexation area will continue to receive this service consistent with the adopted ambulance service area (ASA) plan. Mutual aid agreements have been adopted by the three regional ASA providers to provide backup coverage for each other's jurisdictions, Parks and recreation "'- The annexation area is within the!! Willamalane Park and Recreation District and will remain in the district after annexation to the,city. The City of Springfield is part of the park district and city residents receive park and recreation services from the district.
