MWMC Amendments at Joint Planning Commission Hearing
Please enter the following request into the record for the April 20, 2004
joint public hearing of the Lane County, Eugene, and Springfield Planning
Commissions,
We ask the respective planning commissions to keep the record open to at
least April 30, 2004. ' '
A primary'reason for this request is because of a statement in the staff
summary, In particular, on page one of the summary it says that after
planning commission(s) action on this item, "The elected officials shall
conduct a joint public hearing on the amendments and shall make a decision
based solely on the record of evidence, created before the planning
commissions."
Is,it common practice to preclude new evidence from being presented to the
elected officials on an item like this? It seems rather unusual to us, But
if that's the case then it is essential you provide the public additional
time to submit comments on these amendments to the planning commissions.
