STREET TREE SIZE:
STREET TREES SHALL BE TWO INCH MINIMUM CALIPER. CALIPER IS THE STEM DIAMETER OF THE TREE MEASURED SIX INCHES ABOVE THE ROOT COLLAR, WHICH IS THE FLARE OF TREE BARK AT THE BASE OF THE TREE WHERE THE TREE MEETS THE DIRT.
STREET TREE LOCATION:
STREET TREES SHALL BE PLANTED AT 30-FOOT INTERVALS EXCEPT WHERE THE PLANTING INTERFERES WITH TRAFFIC VISION, STREET LIGHTING, SIGNS, OR PUBLIC UTILITIES. WHEN PLANTING LARGE CANOPY TREES, TREE SPACING MAY BE MODIFIED IF APPROVED BY THE CITY.
TREES LOCATIONS SHALL BE:
A. 35 FEET FROM THE PERPENDICULAR CURB LINE OF STREET INTERSECTIONS.
B. FIVE FEET FROM ALLEY INTERSECTION, DRIVEWAY, WATER METER OR OTHER UTILITY FIXTURE.
C. 20 FEET FROM A DECORATIVE POST TOP MOUNTED STREET LIGHT, AND 30 FEET FROM COBRA HEAD STREET LIGHTS.
D. TEN FEET FROM ANY UTILITY POLE.
TREE PLANTING PROCEDURES AND ESTABLISHMENT:
STREET TREES SHALL BE PROPERLY PLANTED AND WATERED TO ESTABLISH HEALTHY TREES. (SEE STANDARD PLANTING SPECIFICATION, STANDARD DRAWING 2- 2). THE FOLLOWING METHODS SHALL APPLY:
A. A PLANTING PIT SHALL BE EXCAVATED LARGE ENOUGH TO ACCOMMODATE THE TREE ROOT RETAINERS WHICH SHALL BE USED WHENEVER THE TREE(S) ARE PLANTED WITHIN EIGHT FEET OF A CONCRETE SURFACE. THE RETAINER SHALL BE PLACED AGAINST THE CONCRETE TO
PREVENT ROOT EVASION. TYPICALLY A RETAINER IS PLACED ON TWO SIDES OF THE TREE. ONE RETAINER SHALL BE SET AGAINST THE CURB, THE OTHER AGAINST THE SIDEWALK. THE ROOT RETAINER SHALL TYPICALLY BE 12 TO 18 INCHES DEEP AND TWO TO FOUR FEET IN
LENGTH ALONG THE CONCRETE STRUCTURE. THE ROOT BARRIERS SHALL BE OF A DESIGN SIMILAR TO TREE ROOT BARRIERS BY DEEPROOT OR EQUIVALENT. NEVER ENCIRCLE THE ROOT BALL WITH A ROOT BARRIER.
B. REMOVE TREE FROM BURLAP OR CONTAINER AND PLACE ON SOLIDLY PACKED SOIL SO THAT THE ROOT COLLAR IS SLIGHTLY ABOVE THE SURROUNDING OR ANTICIPATED GRADE.
C. INSERT AN AERATION TUBE ON TWO SIDES OF THE TREE. THE TUBES SHALL EXTEND FROM THE GROUND SURFACE TO THE BASE OF THE ROOT BALL. THIS WILL ALLOW EVAPORATION OF EXCESS MOISTURE AND PROVIDE FOR EFFICIENT SUMMER WATERING. THE TUBE SHALL BE
FILLED WITH PEA GRAVEL. THE MINIMUM AERATION TUBE SPECIFICATION IS A THREE-INCH PERFORATED ADS DRAINPIPE OR EQUIVALENT.
D. THE TREE SHALL BE SUPPORTED WITH TWO STAKES ON EITHER SIDE OF THE TREE.
E. ON A TYPICAL FOUR FOOT PLANTER STRIP, PLANT TREES AT LEAST 1-1/2 FEET FROM THE SIDEWALK AND 2-1/2 FEET FROM THE CURB. ON LARGE PLANTER STRIPS, LOCATE THE TREES IN THE BACK HALF OF THE PLANTER STRIP CLOSEST TO THE SIDEWALK.
F. PLACE LOOSE FRIABLE NATIVE BACKFILL AROUND THE TREE. IF THE EXCAVATION MATERIAL IS HEAVY CLAY, PLANTER MIX SHALL BE USED AS BACKFILL.
G. SPREAD A TWO- TO THREE-INCH LAYER OF MULCH AROUND THE TREE BUT KEEP MULCH SIX INCHES FROM THE TRUNK.
H. BLACK PLASTIC SHALL NOT BE USED AS A WEED BARRIER AROUND TREES AS IT PROMOTES SURFACE ROOTS.
I. WATER THE TREES WITH TEN TO 20 GALLONS PER WEEK DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS OF THE FIRST AND SECOND YEARS. USE A HOSE AT LOW TRICKLE FOR SEVERAL HOURS TO PROVIDE DEEP ROOT WATERING. THIS WILL ENCOURAGE ROOTS TO GROW DEEP RATHER THAN ON
THE SURFACE. HOME IRRIGATION SYSTEMS ARE DESIGNED TO WATER TURF AND SHRUBS, BUT NOT TREE ROOTS. TREES SHOULD BE AUGMENTED WITH ADDITIONAL WATERINGS.
J. FERTILIZERS SHALL NOT BE USED THE FIRST YEAR OF PLANTING. A B1 VITAMIN SHALL BE USED TO PROMOTE ROOT GROWTH.
K. STREET TREES PLANTED IN ROW SHALL BE SUBJECT TO A TWO-YEAR WARRANTY PERIOD. TREES SHALL BE ALIVE AND IN VIGOROUS GROWING CONDITION AFTER TWO GROWING SEASONS. SEE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD STANDARD CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS FOR FURTHER

GENERAL NOTES:
1. DRAWINGS ARE NOT TO BE SCALED, WRITTEN DIMENSIONS TAKE 'PRECEDENCE,
THIS SET OF DOCUMENTS IS INTENDED TO BE USED FOR DIAGRAMMATIC
PURPOSED ONLY, UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR'S

WIRELESS REPRESENTATIVE PRIOR TO START OF WORK.
3. PRIOR TO THE SUBMISSION OF BIDS, CONTRACTORS INVOLVED SHALL VISIT THE
JOB SITE TO FAMILIARIZE THEMSELVES WITH ALL CONDITIONS AFFECTING THE
PROPOSED PROJECT. CONTRACTORS SHALL VISIT THE CONSTRUCTION SITE WITH
THE CONSTRUCTION/CONTRACT DOCUMENTS TO VERIFY FIELD CONDITIONS AND
CONFIRM THAT THE PROJECT ,WILL BE ACCOMPLISHED AS SHOWN. PRIOR TO
PROCEEDING WITH CONSTRUCTION, ANY ERRORS, OMISSIONS, OR DISCREPANCIES
SHALL BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE ARCHITECT/ENGINEER VERBALLY
AND IN WRITING.
4. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL RECEIVE WRITTEN AUTHORIZATION TO PROCEED
WITH CONSTRUCTION PRIOR TO STARTING WORK ON ANY ITEM NOT CLEARLY
DEFINED BY THE CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS/CONTRACT DOCUMENTS.
5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUPERVISE AND DIRECT THE PROJECT DESCRIBED IN THE
CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR
ALL CONSTRUCTION MEANS, METHODS, TECHNIQUES, SEQUENCES, SAFETY, AND
PROCEDURES FOR COORDINATING ALL PORTIONS OF THE WORK UNDER THE
CONTRACT.
6. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL ALL EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS ACCORDING TO
MANUFACTURER'S/VENDOR'S SPECIFICATIONS UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE OR
WHERE LOCAL CODES OR ORDINANCES TAKE PRECEDENCE.
7. ALL WORK PERFORMED ON THE PROJECT AND MATERIALS INSTALLED SHALL BE IN
STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE CODES, REGULATIONS, AND
ORDINANCES. CONTRACTOR SHALL GIVE ALL NOTICES AND COMPLY WITH ALL
LAWS, ORDINANCES, RULES, REGULATIONS AND LAWFUL ORDERS OF ANY PUBLIC
AUTHORITY, MUNICIPAL AND UTILITY COMPANY SPECIFICATIONS, AND LOCAL AND
STATE JURISDICTIONAL CODES BEARING ON THE PERFORMANCE OF THE WORK.
8. GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE, AT THE PROJECT SITE, A FULL SET OF
CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS UPDATED WITH THE LATEST REVISIONS INVOLVED WITH
THE PROJECT. THIS SET IS A VALID CONTRACT DOCUMENT ONLY IF THE TITLE
SHEET IS STAMPED IN RED INK "FOR CONSTRUCTION" AND EACH SUCCESSIVE
SHEET BEARS THE ARCHITECT'S/ENGINEER'S SIGNED WET STAMP.
9. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ADEQUATELY BRACING AND PROTECTING
ALL WORK DURING CONSTRUCTION AGAINST DAMAGE, BREAKAGE, COLLAPSE, ETC.
ACCORDING TO APPLICABLE CODES, STANDARDS, AND GOOD CONSTRUCTION
PRACTICES.
10. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MEET ALL OSHA REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL INSTALLATIONS.
11. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL DAMAGES TO THE EXISTING
CONSTRUCTION AND REPAIR ALL DAMAGES TO EQUAL OR BETTER NEW
CONSTRUCTION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE CONSULTANT OF ANY
DAMAGE TO THE BUILDING SITE OR ANY ADJACENT STRUCTURES AROUND THE
PROJECT. THE T -MOBILE REPRESENTATIVE SHALL BE SOLE AND FINAL JUDGE AS
TO THE QUALITY OF THE REPAIRED CONSTRUCTION. ANY ADDITIONAL
MODIFICATIONS WHICH MUST BE MADE SHALL BE MADE AT THE CONTRACTOR'S
EXPENSE.
12. WHERE NEW PAVING, CONCRETE SIDEWALKS OR PATHS MEET EXISTING
CONSTRUCTION, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MATCH THE EXISTING PITCH, GRADE, AND
ELEVATION SO THE ENTIRE STRUCTURE SHALL HAVE A SMOOTH TRANSITION.
13. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MODIFY THE EXISTING FLOORS, WALL, CEILING, OR OTHER
CONSTRUCTION AS REQUIRED TO GAIN ACCESS TO AREAS FOR ALL MECHANICAL,
PLUMBING, ELECTRICAL, OR STRUCTURAL MODIFICATIONS. WHERE THE EXISTING
CONSTRUCTION DOORS, PARTITIONS, CEILING, ETC., ARE TO BE REMOVED,
MODIFIED, OR REARRANGED OR WHERE THE EXPOSED OR HIDDEN MECHANICAL,
ELECTRICAL, SYSTEMS ARE ADDED OR MODIFIED, THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR
SHALL REPAIR, PATCH AND MATCH ALL EXISTING CONSTRUCTION AND FINISHES OF
ALL FLOORS WALLS AND CEILINGS. WHERE CONCRETE MASONRY CONSTRUCTION
IS MODIFIED, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL TOOTH IN ALL NEW CONSTRUCTION TO
MATCH THE EXISTING BOND. WHERE CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION IS MODIFIED,
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY THE EXACT DETAILS TO BE USED FOR
CONSTRUCTION. ALL WORK SHALL BE COVERED UNDER THE GENERAL
CONTRACT.
14. IF CONTRACTOR OR SUBCONTRACTOR FIND IT NECESSARY TO DEVIATE FROM
ORIGINAL APPROVED PLANS, THEN IT IS THE CONTRACTOR'S AND THE
SUBCONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO PROVIDE THE CONSULTANT WITH 4 COPIES
OF THE, PROPOSED CHANGES FOR HIS APPROVAL BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THE
WORK. IN ADDITION THE CONTRACTOR AND SUBCONTRACTORS SHALL BE

VAULT NOTES:
THE FOLLOWING INSTALLATION INFORMATION COVERS THE MAIN ASPECTS OF THE
VAULT INSTALLATION. REFER TO ASTM SPECIFICATION C-891 "INSTALLATION OF
UNDERGROUND PRECAST CONCRETE UTILITY STRUCTURES" FOR ADDITIONAL DETAILS.
1. EXCAVATION AND BEDDING:
INSTALLATION OF VAULTS REQUIRES THAT THE CUSTOMER PROVIDE THE
EXCAVATION IN WHICH TO LOWER THE INDIVIDUAL COMPONENTS INTO PLACE. THE
EXCAVATION MUST ALLOW FOR OVERALL HEIGHT OF VAULT PLUS THE ADDED
HEIGHT OF RISERS, ACCESS DOORS, FRAMES AND COVERS, ETC. BEDDING
MATERIAL SHOULD CONSIST OF 3" TO 6" OF COMPACTED PEA GRAVEL, GRADED
LEVEL. A MINIMUM CLEARANCE OF 6" AROUND THE SIDE AND END WALLS OF
THE VAULT IS REQUIRED FOR EASE OF INSTALLATION.
2. OFF -LOADING AND SETTING:
THE VAULT IS ASSEMBLED BY LOWERING EACH SECTION INTO THE EXCAVATION.
THE BASE SECTION IS LOWERED FIRST, SET LEVEL AND FIRMLY POSITIONED
BEFORE PLACING INTERMEDIATE AND/OR TOP SECTION. THE EXCAVATION MUST
NOT CONTAIN WATER WHEN SETTING VAULT. WHEN INSTALLING VAULT SECTIONS
THAT HAVE FOUR LIFT POINT LOCATIONS, USE FOUR-WAY CABLE RIGGING WITH
CABLES BEING OF EQUAL LENGTH AND WIDTH NO MORE THAN A 45 DEGREE
ANGLE FROM VERTICAL. DO NOT LIFT BY LESS THAN FOUR CABLES.
THE SEAL SURFACES BETWEEN SECTIONS MUST BE CLEAN AND THE
GASKET/SEALANT MUST BE IN PLACE. SPLICE GASKET/SEALANT AWAY FROM
CORNERS. REFER TO CATALOG DRAWING FOR PLACEMENT LOCATION.
3. KNOCKOUTS:
KNOCKOUTS ARE PROVIDED IN VARIOUS LOCATIONS IN SUFFICIENT NUMBER TO
MEET THE MAJORITY OF REQUIREMENTS. KNOCKOUTS ARE EASILY REMOVED BY
STRIKING IN THE CENTER WITH A HAMMER OR SIMILAR TOOL. A SINGLE
MODERATELY HEAVY BLOW WILL GIVE BETTER RESULTS THAN NUMEROUS LIGHT
BLOWS. ONLY USE THE KNOCKOUT AREAS PROVIDED ON VAULT FOR CONDUIT
AND PIPE PENETRATIONS. A BLOCKOUT IN ANY OTHER AREA COULD WEAKEN THE
STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF THE VAULT.
4. BACKFILLING:
BACKFILL AROUND THE VAULT SHOULD CONSIST OF GOOD COMPACTIBLE MATERIAL
SUCH AS PEA GRAVEL, SAND, OR SELECT BACKFILL MATERIAL. IN NO CASE SHALL
THE MATERIAL BE SATURATED SOIL, OR CONTAIN LARGE ROCKS OR CHUNKS. NO
VOIDS SHOULD REMAIN BETWEEN THE VAULT WALLS AND NATIVE SOIL OF
EXCAVATION.
BACKFILLING SHOULD NOT BE DONE UNTIL VAULT IS COMPLETELY ASSEMBLED
MAKING CERTAIN TO COMPACT THE BACKFILL PROGRESSIVELY FROM THE BOTTOM
TO THE TOP SURFACES. ALL BACKFILLING IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE
CUSTOMER/CONTRACTOR. IF IN THE PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY, PUBLIC APPROVAL
FROM GOVERNING AGENCY WILL NEED TO BE OBTAINED.

SWEEP TEST PROCEDURE:
THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE DESCRIBES THE TEST AND FAULT FINDING PROCEDURE TO BE FOLLOWED FOR ALL ANTENNAS.
1. TEST EQUIPMENT SHOULD CONSIST OF A SWEEP OSCILLATOR SET TO RUN BETWEEN 1830 AND 1990 MHz, DIRECTIONAL COUPLER
WITH AT LEAST 35dB DIRECTIVITY AND SCALAR NETWORK ANALYZER WITH RESOLUTION OF BETTER THAN 0.2dB. A MATCHED 50 Ohm
LOAD AND SHORT CIRCUIT TERMINATION ARE ALSO REQUIRED.
2. SET UP THE RETURN LOSS MEASURING SET AS PER THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS AND CALIBRATE WITH THE SHORT (OdB
RETURN LOSS VSWR = INFINITY.)
3. ANTENNA SYSTEMS SWEEP:
DISCONNECT THE BOTTOM JUMPER AT THE BTS AND CONNECT IT TO THE MAIN PORT OF THE BRIDGE. RETURN LOSS OF THE
COMPOSITE JUMPERS, FEEDER AND ANTENNA SHOULD BE < -18dB ( VSWR > 1.5 : 1) BETWEEN 1830 AND 1990 MHZ.
4. RETURN LOSS WITH LOAD:
TURN OFF THE SWEEP GENERATOR, DISCONNECT THE TOP JUMPER AT THE ANTENNA AND CONNECT A DUMMY LOAD TO THE END OF
THE TOP JUMPER WITH A DIN - N ADAPTER. POWER UP THE GENERATOR AND MEASURE THE RETURN LOSS LOOKING INTO THE BOTTOM
JUMPER. THE RETURN LOSS SHOULD NOT EXCEED -18dB (VSWR > 1.3 : 1) BETWEEN 1830 AND 1990 MHZ.
5. INSERTION LOSS:
REPLACE THE LOAD WITH A SHORT CIRCUIT TERMINATION AND MEASURE THE MAXIMUM AND MINIMUM RETURN LOSS BETWEEN 1830
AND 1990. ADD THIS TOGETHER AND DIVIDE BY 4 TO GIVE THE AVERAGE 1 WAY INSERTION LOSS WHICH SHOULD BE < 3 dB.
6. DISTANCE TO FAULT WITH A SHORT:
PERFORM A DISTANCE TO FAULT TEST WITH A SHORT TO DETERMINE THE LINE LENGTH.
7. IF THE CONDITIONS IN 3, 4 AND 5 ARE MET THEN THE TEST IS COMPLETE. IF 3 IS BAD BUT 4 & 5 ARE OK THEN REPLACE
THE ANTENNA AND RETEST. IF 4 & 5 ARE BAD THEN MEASURE RL OF MAIN FEEDER ONLY. IF RETURN LOSS IMPROVES TO
-20 OR BETTER OR INSERTION LOSS IMPROVES BY MORE THAN 2dB THEN REPLACE OR RETERMINA TE THE BOTTOM AND TOP
JUMPER. OTHERWISE REPLACE THE MAIN FEEDER RUN. NOTIFY PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND RF ENGINEERING OF ANY FAULTY
HARDWARE.
8. ALL TEST RESULTS SHOULD BE CLEARLY MARKED WITH SITE, FEEDER NUMBER, DATE, MEASURED TIME.

1. OWNER OR DESIGNATED PERSON SHALL BE

MAINTENANCE OF ALL EROSION AND SEDIMENT
CONTROL MEASURES, IN ACCORDANCE WITH
LOCAL, STATE, AND FEDERAL REGULATIONS.
2. THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THESE ESC PLANS
AND CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE,
REPLACEMENT, AND UPGRADING OF THESE ESC
FACILITIES IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE
CONTRACTOR UNTIL ALL CONSTRUCTION IS
COMPLETED AND APPROVED BY THE LOCAL
JURISDICTION, AND VEGETATION/LANDSCAPING
IS ESTABLISHED. THE DEVELOPER SHALL BE
RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTENANCE AFTER THE
PROJECT IS APPROVED UNTIL THE LOTS ARE
SOLD.
3. THE BOUNDARIES OF THE CLEARING LIMITS
SHOWN ON THIS PLAN SHALL BE CLEARLY
MARKED IN THE FIELD PRIOR TO
CONSTRUCTION. DURING THE CONSTRUCTION
PERIOD, NO DISTURBANCE BEYOND THE
CLEARING LIMITS SHALL BE PERMITTED. THE
MARKINGS SHALL BE MAINTAINED BY THE
APPLICANT/CONTRACTOR FOR THE DURATION
OF CONSTRUCTION.
4. THE ESC FACILITIES SHOWN ON THIS PLAN
MUST BE CONSTRUCTED IN CONJUNCTION WITH
ALL CLEARING AND GRADING ACTIVITIES, AND IN
SUCH A MANNER AS TO INSURE THAT
SEDIMENT AND SEDIMENT LADEN WA TER DOES
NOT ENTER THE DRAINAGE SYSTEM, ROADWAYS,
OR VIOLA TE APPLICABLE WATER STANDARDS.
5. THE ESC FACILITIES SHOWN ON THIS PLAN ARE
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR ANTICIPATED SITE
CONDITIONS. DURING CONSTRUCTION PERIODS,
THESE ESC FACILITIES SHALL BE UPGRADED AS
NEEDED FOR UNEXPECTED STORM EVENTS AND
TO ENSURE THAT SEDIMENT AND SEDIMENT
LADEN WATER DOES NOT LEAVE THE SITE.
6. THE ESC FACILITIES SHALL BE INSPECTED
DAILY BY THE APPLICANT/CONTRACTOR AND
MAINTAINED AS NECESSARY TO ENSURE THEIR
CONTINUED FUNCTIONING.
7. AT NO TIME SHALL SEDIMENT BE ALLOWED TO
ACCUMULATE MORE THAN 1/3 THE BARRIER
HEIGHT. ALL CATCH BASINS AND CONVEYANCE
LINES SHALL BE CLEANED PRIOR TO PAVING.
THE CLEANING OPERATIONS SHALL NOT FLUSH
SEDIMENT-LADEN WATER INTO THE
DOWNSTREAM SYSTEM.
8. STABILIZED GRAVEL ENTRANCES SHALL BE
INSTALLED AT THE BEGINNING OF
CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTAINED FOR THE
DURATION OF THE PROJECT. ADDITIONAL
MEASURES MAY BE REQUIRED TO INSURE THAT
ALL PAVED AREAS ARE KEPT CLEAN FOR THE
DURATION OF THE PROJECT.
9. STORM DRAIN INLETS, BASINS, AND AREA
DRAINS SHALL BE PROTECTED UNTIL PAVEMENT
SURFACES ARE COMPLETED AND/OR
VEGETATION IS RE-ESTABLISHED.
10. PAVEMENT SURFACES AND VEGETATION ARE TO
BE PLACED AS RAPIDLY AS POSSIBLE.
11. SEEDING SHALL BE PERFORMED NO LATER
THAN SEPTEMBER 1 FOR EACH PHASE OF
CONSTRUCTION.
12. IF THERE ARE EXPOSED SOILS OR SOILS NOT
