All insula ling materials to comply with Sections R320 and NII04, C. All insulation shall be applied uniformly and in a manner to prevent compression. Insulation shall be spliJ evenly around pipes, wires, ducts or other obstructions and cut in around outlet boxes. D. Exterior joints around windows and door frames, between wall cavities and window and door frames, between 'Wall and foundation, between wall and roof, betwtien wall panels, at penetrations or utility services through \~alls, floors and roofs and all other openings in the exterior envelopes shall be caulked, gasketed, weather-stripped or otherwise sealed. 0702 FLOOR INSULATION: A. 211 thick (R-15 minimum) extruded polystyrene foam insulation (approved lor under slab use) shall be installed around enlire perimeter of monolithic floor slab in 011 heated areas. The insulation shell extend downward Irom the top 01 the slab to fhe bottom 01 the thickened edge, The insuiation shall be protected as shown on plans to 0 minimum of 61' below grade. The complete area under slab shall be covered with 6-mil polyethylene or approved equal. B, 2" thick (R-i5 minimum) extruded polysfyrene loam insulation (approved for under slab use) shall be installed around enlire perimeter of floating floor slab in all heated areas. The Insulation shall extend downward from the top of the slob for a minimum distance of 2411, or downward to the bottom of the slab, then horizontally beneath the slab for a mbimum total distance of 2411. The complete area under slab and under insulation shall be covered with G-mil polyethylene or approved equal. C, R-2S fiberglass batt insulation, supported by lath or corrOSion-proof wire, shall be installed flush under floors over all crawlspoces. Support system (wood lath, corrosion-resistant wire, or rot-resistant twine) is required to hold insulation in place without compressing it. Separate vapor retarder is not required in floors constructed with plywood or OSB sheafhing. Rigid, weather-resistant baffles ,hall be Installed to deflect soffit ventilation air above insulation and to keep insulation clear from attic hatches. Non-combustible baffles shall be installed to provide 311 clearance around flues, metal chimneys, gas vents or fixtures that require clearances or ventilation for fire safety. 070G ROOFiNG: A. DIVISION OBOO - DOORS. WINDOWS AND GLASS 0601 DOORS: A, Door sizes shall be as noted on plans, with type, IInishes and hardware as selected by owner. Exterior doors (except main entry door) to have a maximum 0.20 U-Value, One door (26 square leet maximum) to have e maximum 0.54 U-Value. B, All windows shail be double glazed with a maximum 0.40 U-Value and shall meet the fenestration requirements of Section Nil04.6, Ail windows shall be tested and certified as noted in Secllon RGI3. Ail windows must be labeled with U-Value or U-Value ciass except as noted in Section Nil04.4.J. D. Sleeping rooms shall hove at least one openable egress window or door as shown on plans and os required by Section R310. NOTE: Sizes of windows sho....n on plans are nomInal only. DIVISION 1000 - SPECIAL TIES 1001 Cabinets, closet organizers, shelves and other built-ins shall be as shown on plans and as arranged by owner. 1002 PREFABRICATED FIREPLACES: A. Prefabricated fireplaces and chimneys may be constructed using listed and labled zero-clearance prefabricated metal type with triple wall stainless steel chimney pipe enclosed in INood stud wall and chase. Installation shall be strictly in accordance ....ith the manufacturers instructions and Section R1004. B. All fireplaces and stoves sholl be equipped with a closable source of outside air for combustion in accordance with Section RIOOS. Duct shall be constructed 01 non-cambustlbie material.
