HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 2290 #22 ORDINANCE NO. 2290 (GENERAL) AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING SUBDIVISIONS AND PERIMETER STREETS AND AMENDING SECTION 10-4-2 (13) (e) OF THE SPRINGFIELD CODE 1965 AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLO,,'S: 1965 Section 1: Section 10-4-2 (13) (e) of the Springfield Code is amen de to read as follows: NO subdivision perimeter streets are those on the perimeter of a subdivision and for which a new street Y is created, either partial or entire by the act of subdivision in question. A new street as used herein shall mean either a street for which a new right Of way is created or where right of way previously existed,the same had not beet. previously opened to traffic. Juxtaposition of a perimeter street with any existing partial street right of way bounded by a withholding strip will also be considered in the category as defined by the preceding sentence. An existing street which is only widened by the new sub- division is not, for the purpose of this document, a perimeter street since it benefits other properties." Section proper provision for development of subdivision Perimeter streets is found and declared to be a matter affecting the public health and safety of the City of Springfield and the Council does therefore hereby declare that an emergency exists and that this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage by the Council and approval by the Mayor.
