Dear I{s. West:
At your request, the Building Division of the City of Sprinqfield made a Housing
Inspectiop at the following Iocations.
The following iterns were found in need of repair or replacernent to conform to the
Housing Code as adopted by the City of Sprinqfield, Oregon.
All app'licable perm'its must be obtained and all itens shall be insta'lled in accor-
dance with applicable Codes and inspected before a Certificate of Comp'liance will
be issued.

The plumbing system is badly deteriorated and has been 'improperly
maintained and falls into the category of hazardous plumbing as
described in Section 1001 (f) of the Uniform Housing Code as adop-
ted by the City of Springfield. Although the existing plumb'ing
may have met the standards of the Code that was in existence at
the time of its installation, alterat'ions and/orimproper mainten-
ance require corrections to be made in accordance with both the
Uniform Housing Code as adopted by the C'ity of Springfield and
the current 0regon State Plumbing Specialty Code (P.S.C.).

1) The cornplete plumbing drainage system is to be classified as
hazardous plumbing and needs repair or repiacement for these
reasons:
Trap missing on automatic washing machine.
Trap on kitchen sink not installed properly.
Sink faucet spray hose is broken and needs to be replaced.
Water closet needs new bolts and new caulkinq at base offi xture.
e) The pressure relief valve on water heater needs to bepiped to exterior of house and turned down. p.S.C. 1007(e)
The electrical system has been improper'ly altered and maintained
and constitutes hazardous wiring as described in Section 1001 (e)of the Uniform Housing code as adopted by the city of Springfield.
Although the existing electrical system may have rnet the stindardsof the Code that was in effect at the time of its installation, dl-terations, and/or improper maintenance require corections to be
made in accordance with both the Uniform Housing Code as adopted bythe City of Springfield and the current Oregon State Electrical Spe-:cialty Code (E.S.C.). Oregon Electrical Saiety Law Section 22-11b(b) states that electrical-work performed on pioperty that is forrent, sale or lease, shall be done by an electrical contractor.
1) A'lterations to the existing wiring were not installed in ac-
cordance with Code standards. Install wiring of an approvedtype (the stove exhaust fan, light in hood, and light oversink were not properly installed). S.E.S.C. 100-8
