Dear Ms. West:
At your request, the Building Division of the City of Springfield made a Housing
Inspection at the following locations on November 15, L982.
The following items were found in need of repair or replacement to conforrn to the
Housing Code as adopted by the City of Springfield.
A11 applicable permits must be obtained and all itens sha1l be installed in accor-
dance with applicable Codes and inspected before a Certificate of Cornpliance will
be issued.

1) Insulating unions must be installed between copper and gal-
vanized pipe and fittings at the water heaters in the house
and garage. Mixing of dissirnilar metals in piping systems
is not permitted.
2) The pressure temperature relief valve on the water heater
in the house nust be piped down and to the outside of the
house.
3) Install an approved pressure, temperature relief valve on
the water heater in the garage. The one on the water heater
now is not an approved type.
4) A11 electrical wiring splices and connections, in the garage,
nust be done in an approved manner and must be in approved
junction boxes with covers.

1) The washer drain must have an approved trap installed.

galvanized water piping and fittings at the water heater.
3) Every room used for sleeping purposes must have at least
one window with an openable area of 4 square feet with no
dimension less than 22 inches..
4) Repair hole in wall above toilet.
5) Repair seal around bathtub and waI1 protection.
6) Chirnney for wood stove must terninate a minimum of 2 feet
above any construction within 10 feet.
7) Wood stoves shall not be installed in an alcove.

1) Repair latch on rear exit door.
2) Remove electrical extension (zip) cords running under carpet
from the bedroon to living room.
3) The new electrical wiring in the attic to provide numerous
receptacles should be removed or conpleted in an approved
manner. A11 splices must be in approved junction boxes
with covers.
4) Every room used for sleeping must have at least one window

4) The attic is not an approved habitable area.
