Dear Resident:
Your property at the address. referenced on the attached notice is in violation of
the Springfield City Code and/or 0rdinance, Rather than issuing a citation or in-
rnediately instituting Municipal Court proceedings, it is the City's standard prac-
tice to inform citizens of the violation and request that it be corrected within a
reasonable tirne
The attached forrn specifies the violation, the required corrections necessary in
order to comply with the applicable Springfield Code and/or City Ordinances and
the date by which your corrective action should be completed.
The City very nuch appreciates your anticipated courtesy and cooperation. If you
have any questions regarding this letter, the violation or the required correction,
please feel free to contact the Springfield Building Safety Division (726-3753).
In the event that your correctiye action is not conpleted ruithin the time specified
this matter will be referred to the City Attorney's Office for further apPropriate
action consistent with the Springfield Code and/or City Ordinances.

L0CATION: 261 South 4Lst Street, Springfield, 0regon
SPECIFIC VIOLATION: Chapter 7, Article 7, Section 7-L-l of the
Springfield City Code (please refer to the attached copy). A
pool has recently been placed on the side portion of your property
which is not enclosed by a fence or permanent structure.
RLQUIRED CORRECTION: Any body of water which is more than 18 inches
in depth is considered a dangerous body of water and must be com-
pletely surrounded by a fence or permanent structure such as a house
or accessory building. If you wish to enclose the pool by constructing
a fence, I have enclosed Section 14.06 of the Springfield Zoning Code
for fencing requirements in residential areas. A building pernit is
required to be obtained prior to construction and may be obtained at
the Springfield Public Works Department, 225 North Sth Street.
DEADLINE FOR CS{PLIANCE: Fifteen (15) days from the date of this
letter (September 6, 1984).
