ATTN: Doug Schultz
Dear Mr. Schultz:
An electrical inspection was conducted at 140 North 37th Street, Springfield, 0regon on
January 7, tg82 concerning damaged wiring listed on a fire damage report from the Spring-
field Fire Department.
Our phone conversation of January 6th indicated your intention of demolishing the out-
building because it would not be practical to replace.
While doing the fire inspection, the tenant requested that an inspection be made on the
wiring sysiem in the main house. The following are some, but not all, of the defects
found needing the attention of a qua'lified licensed e'lectrical contractor:
1. Repair or replace service equipment. (NEC 11.0-3, 9 & 12)
2. Repair or replace and secure all 'light fixtures, outlets, and switches, etc. (devices).
(NEC 110-3)
3. Extend all light fixture, switch and outlet boxes so that they are flush with the
finished surface. (NEC 370-10)
4. Secure alI electrical boxes. (nfC 370-13)
5. Secure alI electrical cables. (NEC 336-5)
6. Install boxes at all 1ight, switches, outlets and iuntion points. (NEC 300-15)
The above readily seen hazards indicate that it would be to your advantage to have a
complete housing inspection. A request form is enclosed.
\
All necessary permits shall be obtained before the work is started, including a demoli-
tion permit.
Sincerely,
/rt.*'r,ar,"-'"
