Please see attached for information specific to your questions submitted for the DlM. I was very glad to hear you are up-to-speed on the changes occurring at the State level that are impacting how Building Codes evaluates these uses. I look forward to learning more and having conversations with you as we move through this process. Some additional items to note from Building for permits: 1. Because the 2008 Planning decision was Denied- the Approval from Building for change of use is not valid. Building will require detailed plans and will be reviewing this as a 2022 request for Change of Use/ Change of Occupancy. This means meeting the Building and Accessibility codes according to the current standards. A. Oregon Structural Specialty Codes (OSSC) for 2022 version are in the process of adoption at the State level, expecting to take effect October'1,2022. With this changes the Accessibility Standard reference. There may be changes within these codes that could impact your project. We can discuss this further if you anticipate applying for Building permits on October 1, or after. 2. We will need to have identified on the plans submitted for Building Permits the provisions for OSSC 420.!2.21o not require sprinklers. ltem's #1 & #2 should be easy to identify on the detailed and scaled floor plans submitted at the time of applying for permits; ltem #3 we can discuss a path to acceptance through conversation with the Building Official, Chris Carpenter. At this time, I don't know what this will look like, but we are happy to have this discussion to find a solution. 3. To recap another topic discussed at the meeting was the Accessible Parking requirement. Please show this on the site plan at submittal. Building follows the requirements for sizing, signage and striping per 20L8 Oregon Tra nsportation Commission Standa rds. lf you have questions, please feel free to reach out and we will be happy to help where we are able.
