Work Session Meeting
MINUTES OF THE WORK SESSION MEETING OF
THE SPRINGFIELD COMMITTEE FOR CITIZEN,
INVOLVEMENT HELD WEDNESDAY, January 20, 2016
The City of Springfield Committee for Citizen Involvement met in a work session in the Jesse Maine Meeting Room, 225
Fifth Street, Springfield, Oregon, on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 6:15 p.m., with Nick Nelson presiding.
ATTENDANCE
Present were Chair Nick Nelson, Vice Chair Greg James, Commissioners Michael Koivula, Steve Moe, Sean Dunn, Tim
Vohs and Andrew Landen. Also present were Development and Public Works Director Anette Spickard, Current
Development Manager Greg Mott, Senior Planner Phil Farrington, Transportation Planner Emma Newman, City Attorney
Kristine Kraaz, and Management Support Specialist Brenda Jones and members of the staff.
ABSENT
Commissioner Landen- Excused
STAFF REPORT
1. Transportation System Plan Springfield Development Code Implementation Project Overview-
Emma Newman introduced herself and Phil Farrington and presented to the Committee for Citizen Involvement the
Overview of the Transportation System Plan and the Springfield Code Implementation
• James asked if the general meetings would be in the Library meeting room…. Emma answered that it would
be web based
• Commissioner Moe made sure that Emma and Phil that Councilor Brew no longer is on the council. Phil
added that they just received word that Councilor Wiley will be the Council Liaison.
• James also responded that the Willamalane Liaison will be different than what they have listed.
• Commissioner Koivula asked about……
• Phil responded that they are still working to solidify this list
• James responded that there ……..
o is sound and keeps the continuity, and applauds both Emma and Phil for the work they have done to
keep the continuity
o Asked if Tim would still be interested in continuing with this project
o Also interested is Sean Dunn and Andrew Landen
• James Moved that they approve the strategy and moves to that Tim and Sean be appointed to the Soundign
Board 6:0:1 absent.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
