MINUTES OF THE REGULAR SESSION MEETING OF
THE SPRINGFIELD PLANNING COMMISSION HELD
Tuesday, March 7, 2017
The City of Springfield Planning Commission met in a regular session in the City Council Chambers, 225 Fifth Street,
Springfield, Oregon, on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 6:00 p.m., with Commissioner James presiding.
ATTENDANCE
Present were Chair Greg James, Vice Chair Koivula, Commissioners, Vohs, Dunn, Landen, and Sherwood. Also present
were, Current Development Manager Greg Mott, City Engineer Jeff Paschall, City Attorney Kristina Schmunk-Krazz and
Management Specialist Brenda Jones and members of the staff.
ABSENT
• Commissioner Nick Nelson- Excused

PLANNING COMMISSION DISCUSSION

MOTION TO RECOMMEND APPROVAL OR APPROVAL WITH CONDITIONS OR DENIAL OF THE
REQUEST BASED ON STAFF REPORT AND ORAL/WRITTEN TESTIMONY.
MOTION:
Commissioner Dunn moves the Springfield Planning Commission recommend to the City Council that it adopt the
2012 Willamalane Park and Recreation Comprehensive Plan as a Refinement Plan of the Eugene-Springfield
Metropolitan Area General Plan, case # TYP413-00003, Seconded by Commissioner Vohs to forward the approval
6:0:1 absent, motion carries.
COUNCIL ACTION REPORT
o Commissioner Vohs spoke to the March 6, 2017 City Council Meeting
BUSINESS FROM CITY
o Greg Mott reminded the Commission that there meeting on March 21, 2017 if the Commission wants to
hold a Work Session. Chair James reminded the Commission that there was a request to hold a work
session for the Planning Commission to talk about the Code Language regarding Cell Towers.
Michael Koivula responded that his request was for Greg Mott and Kristina Schmunk-Krazz to do a
presentation regarding the language in the code regarding Cell Towers.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
