ITEM TITLE: ACCEPTANCE OF PROJECT P21166 S. 28TH ST SANITARY SEWER
PROJECT.
ACTION
REQUESTED: Adopt or reject the following resolution:
A RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT CITY PROJECT P21166 S. 28TH STREET
SANITARY SEWER PROJECT.
ISSUE H & J Construction has completed the sanitary sewer construction work for this
STATEMENT: project. City Staff has completed the final inspection, paperwork, and approval.
The Project is now ready for City Council to formally accept the work.

DISCUSSION/ Construction has been completed on the S. 28"' Street Sanitary Sewer Project,
FINANCIAL P21166. This locally delivered sanitary sewer project constructed over 1300 lineal
IMPACT: feet of new wastewater mainline and associated laterals to provide sanitary sewer
service as the area develops.
This wastewater expansion project was identified in the City of Springfield Capital
Improvement Program to be completed ahead of the S. 28t` Street paving project
which is funded through the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ)
program.
This project has been completed with a final cost of $586,571.93, which included
the approved change order work approved by the Council on 1/31/2023.
All work under this contract has been completed and inspected by the City
Engineer or designee and found satisfactory.

RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT P21166
WHEREAS, work on the improvement described below has been fully completed and has been
duly inspected by the City Engineer of the City of Springfield: P21166, S. 28th Street Sanitary
Sewer, Capital Improvement Project;
WHEREAS, said work was found to be in conformance with the terms of the Public
Improvement Permit and plans submitted by the Engineer of Record and approved by the City
Engineer; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Engineer that this Capital Improvement
Project be accepted and permanently included in the improvement maintenance program of the
City of Springfield.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SPRINGFIELD:
Section 1: The Common Council of the City of Springfield does hereby accept for
future maintenance the above-described project and accepts said improvement from the
Developer involved.
Section 2: This Resolution will take effect upon adoption by the Council and
approval by the Mayor.
ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Springfield this 17th day of April 2023,
by a vote of for and against.
