AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING MOTOR VEHICLES: TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNS
BY AMENDING SECTION 6-8-4 OF THE SPRINGFIELD CODE, 1965.
THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 : Section 6-8-4 of the Springfield Code is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"6-8-4 Traffic Control Signs and Signals. The Department of Public
Works is hereby authorized to place within the City, upon such
streets as it deems best, and at such places thereon as it deems
in the public interest, traffic control signs and signals governing
the operation of motor vehicles.
It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle in
-a manner contrary to the manner prescribed by such a traffic
control device.
Adopted this 1st day of _February ,1982, by a vote of
-5- for and -''- against.
Approved by the Mayor this 1st _day of February ,1982.
