ARTS COMMISSION APPLICANT APPOINTMENT
ACTION
REQUESTED:
Appoint one (1) Carolyn Jean Miller to the Springfield Arts Commission with a
full-term with an expiration ending December 31, 2026; appoint one (1) David
Grimes to the Springfield Arts Commission with a partial term with an expiration
ending December 31, 2025; appoint one (1) Suzanne Vinson to the Springfield Arts
Commission with a partial term with an expiration ending December 31, 2025;
appoint one (1) Nicolas Kauffinann to the Springfield Arts Commission with a
partial term with an expiration ending December 31, 2024; appoint one (1) Adam
Gutierrez to the Springfield Arts Commission with a partial term with an expiration
ending December 31, 2024.
ISSUE
In response to City Council's decision for boards, commissions, and committees to
STATEMENT:
have nine (9) members, the Springfield Arts Commission has six (6) vacancies and
five (5) applicants eligible for appointment.
There is one (1) remaining vacancy, a partial term with an expiration date of
December 31, 2023.

DISCUSSION/
The Springfield Arts Commission has six (6) vacancies. Nine (9) applicants
FINANCIAL
applied, two (2) applicants withdrew, two (2) applicants missed their interviews,
IMPACT:
and five (5) applicants were interviewed at the March 6, 2023, City Council Work
Session.
The Springfield Arts Commission requests that the Council formally ratify the
appointments during the regular meeting.
