ITEM TITLE: COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE APPOINTMENT
ACTION
Appoint Catrina Mathewson to the Community Development Advisory Committee
REQUESTED:
to finish out the term of a vacated position, ending December 31, 2025.
ISSUE
The Community Development Advisory Committee has one vacant position due to
STATEMENT:
the resignation of a committee member after he was appointed to the Springfield
Planning Commission. This position has three years remaining on the current term.
Two applications were received for one opening.

DISCUSSION/
Catrina Mathewson was one of two applicants to be on the Community
FINANCIAL
Development Advisory Committee (CDAC). She was interviewed by Council
IMPACT:
during the 3/13/2023 work session. Council gave direction for her to be appointed
to the Committee.
The CDAC provides recommendations to the City Council on the best use of the
City's allotment of federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and
HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funds. These funds support
housing programs, social services, affordable rental and home ownership housing
development, neighborhood revitalization activities, parks and street construction
and downtown redevelopment.
