ITEM TITLE:
BUDGET COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS
ACTION Appoint Jason Miller to represent Ward 1, Devin Marche -Duncan to represent
REQUESTED: Ward 2, Ruth Linoz to represent Ward 4, and Arthur Ayre to represent Ward 5 on
the Budget Committee with terms expiring December 31, 2025.
ISSUE Applicants are being sought to represent Wards 1, 2, 4, and 5. Vacancies for Wards
STATEMENT: 1, 2, and 5 were the result of the term expiration of the prior appointees. The Ward
4 vacancy is the result of Steven Schmuck's appointment to the Planning
Commission.

DISCUSSION/
FINANCIAL On March 13"', the City Council interviewed applicants for the Budget Committee
IMPACT: vacancies in Wards 1, 2, 4, and 5. After discussion, the Council asked that Arthur
Ayre's name be brought back for appointment to the Ward 1 vacancy, Devin
Marche-Duncan's name brought back for appointment to the Ward 2 vacancy,
Ruth Linoz's name brought back for appointment to the Ward 4 Vacancy, and
Jason Miller's name be brought back for appointment to the Ward 5 vacancy.
Following the March 13t" interviews, it was discovered that Jason Miller's
application incorrectly listed his residence as being in Ward 5, when in fact he
resides in Ward 6. Given that Arthur Ayre resides in Ward 5, staff has adjusted
ward assignments to better align ward representation with ward residency by
appointing Arthur Ayre to Ward 5 and Jason Miller to Ward 1. The final
appointment by ward, including the above mentioned adjustment, is as follows:
