Insert window in opening, leaving a minimum of 1/4' gap on all sides, top, and bottom ensuring window is plumb, level, and square. STEP3. Install 1 1/2' smooth shank roofing nails through all nail holes on all four sides of window into sheathing. hing 12• Sill flashing INSTALL THE SILL STEP 1. Cut 12' wide flashing to be 12' longer than the window is wide. For example, a 36' window would need a 46' strip. STEP 2. Make a 6' cut on each end, towards the middle of the strip STEP 3. Install flashing on bottom of window opening, so that 6' is on the horizontal portion, and 6' is on the ventral portion. 6' of flashing will extend up each side of the window opening, and 6' will extend past the sides. Cut two ^6"x12" triangle and install on each corner of the sill by stretching it over the previous step so that it covers the inside corner on all three sides. FLASHING HEAD STEP 1. Cut 6' flashing 12' longer than window is wide. For example, a 36' window would need a 48" strip STEP 2. Install flashing so that it Covers nailing flange and extends 6 past window on both sides STEP 3. Roll (compress) leg and head flashing with J roller Corr SILL CORNERS STEP 1. Cut two 12"x12" squares STEP 2. Make a 6' cut into each square from the center to the side STEP 3. Install each a square into each corner, an that one flap extends onto the leg of the jamb, and the remainder is on the WRB and flashing STEP 4. Roll (compress) flashing with J roller on all sides. WRB FLAP STEP 1. Fold WRB over head Flashing STEP 2. Place WRB approved tape (Tyvek, Kingston etc)over seams in WRB NOTES: These install instructions are for a typical vinyl window with an integrated nailing flange installed after WRB (house wrap) has been installed. Use these instructions ONLY when more specific, or manufacturer instruction, are not available. Flashing to be Grace Vycer Plus or approved alternate Sealant to be OSI Quad Advanced formula or approved alternate Flashing and sealant must be installed according to manufacturer guidelines for moisture and temperature. All flashing should be free of wrinkles and air bubbles. It's a best practice for the installer to video themselves installing a window, and document the humidity, temperature, using the J roller, and the flashing and sealant make and model.
