RE: Fire Damage Inspection at 1373 North 33rd Street, Springfield, 0regon 97477
Dear Mr. Silver:
At your request, on April 72,1982 I inspected the fire damage at the above referenced
address.
The structural fire damage appears to have been confined to the southeast area of the
bui'lding. !,Iithin this area there has been substantial damage to the rafter-ceilingjoists and the perimeter wa'l'l support members. A minimum of 12 feet of roof supportswill be necessary to be replaced with the possibility of additional replacement neces-
sary if severe charring or other unknown structural conditions are encountered during
the removal of damaged materials and debris. The wall framing shal'l be replaced where
charring exceeds a depth of ro inch on any side. 0ther framing sha'll be determined to
have sufficient res'idual strength to remain.
The electrical and heating systems shall be checked for physical damage by fire or
excessive heat and replaced or repaired where necessary.
Repairs or alterations to the structure may be made without making the entire structure
comply with all the requirements of the 2regon Structtual SpeciaLfu Code mtd Eire and
Life Safety Coide (S.S.C.) provided the repairs or alterations conform to that required
for a new bui'lding or structure.
All necessary permits shall be obtained and all required inspections conducted.
