An existing condition at the above property has been brought to our

Building Safety codes and requires your attention to abate the problem' It is

Code requires that only approved materials shall be used for connectjon

coRREcTIoNs REQUIRBD: Replace the Rv type connection rvith an
approved permanent mobile home connection using appropriate metal or

Dear Ms. Dunn:
As we discussed by telephone, the City of Springfield wi'll issue aperm'it to locate the 14'x 70'mobile home which bears the 1973 ANSIseal indicating compl'iance with structural, electrical, plumbing, and
heating standards of that time. The roof must have a p'itch of L6% (2
in 12) minimum and the foundation must be of the permanent type as
discussed. The perimeter must be skirted.
When applying for the set-up permit, Jou must submit a site plan
showing the placement of the mobile home on the lot and any accessory
structures and utility connections.

Dear Ms. Blaney:
You recently requested that t document ny observatlons regarding the location of a
fence lnstalled by your neighbor fo the south. The location of a fence with regard
to a property llne ls nornall-y vlewed as a clvl1 matter between lts property owners
ln conmon, and should be resolved by mutual agreement or clvlal jurisprudence. The
Clty does not Locate or verlfy the location of boundary lines between prlvate property.
I was flrst acquainted with your neighborrs property at 1157 North 33rd Street when
I was requested to inspect a shop butlding suspected of being constructed without
a pernit. At first, it appeared that the north wa11 of the building rnay have been
a few inches closer than the 5 feet required setback from the property llne in common
wlth your property. This however was a judgeraent on my part using slght projection
from a steel plpe at the approximate east corner of the property line, and a fence
located between the two propertles east of yours.
Subsequently, your neighbor applied for a permit to construct a fence on the property
Llne couuron to you. My inspection of the fence revealed that it was almost exactly
5 feet from the shop bullding mentioned above and the steel plpe at the east corner
Iras no longer visable. I had no rray of telllng lf the pipe had been removed, covered
by a fence post or had been relocated several lnches north as you contend.
The only valid way of determining the actual location of the property line in question
ls by a resurvey done by a lLcensed surveyor who can locate the positlon of your
Property corner. You may wish to seek the advice of an attorney in order to determine
your rlghts and obllgations ln this matter.
