Dear Mrs. & Mr. Bigham,
On 3 April 1986, at the request of your tenant, Mr. TYade lYebster, a Housing
Courtesy Inspection waB performed at the above address. this inspection
revealed the following violations of the City's Houging Code:
Structural Violations
The plywood floor sheathing in the kitchen is not secured to the floor
system below. Open sections in the floor sheathing exist creating a
potential hazard. AlI voids in the floor sheathing in the kitchen must
be covered. AIso, all floor sheathing must be secured to framing
members.
Glazing in the east kitchen window is broken. Please replace broken
glazing
Health and Safety Violations
The woodstove located in the liwing room is installed without proper
clearance to combustible material. Floor protection installed beneath
the woodstove does not comply with the Mechanical Specialty Code
requirements. The chimney venting the woodstove appears to be
unlined. The chimney does not have a one ineh clearance from
combustible material.
Please note that the City's Ilousing code requires that all dwellings
have heating equipment capable of maintaining temperatures in all
rooms in dwellings at 70 degrees Fahrenhite. If you choose to comect
the woodstove installation, additional heat Bourcea must be provided in
the bathroom and kitchen. If the woodstowe is eliminated, aIl rooms
must be provided with a heat source.
If you chose to correct the woodstove installation, both the woodstove
and chimney must comply with the Mechanical Specialty Code.
Information on code-approved woodstove installations can be obtained
at this office.

The violations mentioned above must be corrected before the dwelling isoccupied. If the building is to be used for storage purposes, the kitchen glazing
must be repaired and the electrical violations must be corrected within thirty
days of the date of this letter.
The City thanks you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in the correc-
tion of these Housing Code Violations.
