Proclamation DISCUSSION/ FINANCIAL IMPACT: Per Springfield Municipal Code section 2.275, within 40 days after an election and after receiving the vote tally for nominated or elected officers and measures, the City Recorder will proclaim to the City Council the candidates nominated or elected and measured approved. The City Recorder is the local elections official for the City of Springfield. The statewide general election was held on November 8, 2022 and candidates were elected to positions for Mayor, SUB Board Positions 2, 3, and 4 No formal action by the City Council to approve the Proclamation is required; the Council is requested to accept the Proclamation. PROCLAMATION - Page 1 PROCLAMATION STATE OF OREGON ) County of Lane ) ss. City of Springfield ) I, AJ Nytes, City Recorder for the City of Springfield, Oregon, do hereby certify, in accordance with the provisions of the 2001 Charter of the City of Springfield, the Springfield Municipal Code, and the laws of the State of Oregon, the following candidates nominated or elected and measures approved at the general election held on November 8, 2022: Sean VanGordon was elected to the City of Springfield Council-Mayor for a two year term commencing January 1, 2023; Robert C Scherer was elected to the SUB Board Member-Position 2 for a four year term commencing January 1, 2023; John C DeWenter was elected to the SUB Board Member-Position 3 for a four year term commencing January 1, 2023; Mike Eyster was elected to the SUB Board Member-Position 4 for a four year term commencing January 1, 2023; and That Measure 20-327 passed by a vote of 15,881 in favor and 8,502 against. A copy of the official certified Abstract of Votes dated December 5, 2022 summarizing votes cast for such offices, and for and against such Measure is attached hereto. The original Abstract is on file in the office of the City Recorder.
