SUBJECT: 400 North 21st Street, Housing Inspection
Dear Mr. McElroy:
At your request the Sprjngfield Building Department made a housing inspection on
July 5, t977 at 400 North 21st Street.
The following items shall be repaired or replaced to conform to the Uniform Housing
Code as adopted by the City of Springfield.

All windows shall open freely.
A fjre wall is required between the house and garage. Thjs will require
a layer of 5/B" Type X sheetrock from the concrete foundation to the
roof sheating. The sheetrock shall be placed on studding placed 16"
on center where necessary to build new walls.
An attic access hole 22" X 30" shall be required.
The open area to the underneath portion of the house'in the garage shall
be sealed.
The crawl space access of 18" X 24" shall be provided.
The dryer shall be vented to the outside.
The attjc area shall be vented. 1/150 of the square footage'in the attjc
shall be free ventilated area.
The rafters are over span and shall be supported at mjd span to a bearing
wal I .
The door from the house shall not swing over a step.
An approved relief valve shall beinstalled on the hot water tank.
Change recepticals to grounded type, where circuit is grounded.
Remove all extens'ion cords in garage. If necessary rewire in accordance
wi th appl icabl e codes.
Secure loose and hanging wires under the house. Majntain six (6) jnches
cl earance f rom water I 'ines.
Secure loose wiring in garage area.
