Approve formation of a Council subcommittee to evaluate and study the Council's

Subcommittees can serve a helpful purpose of creating a small working group to

discuss and study issues for consideration by the entire Council. The Council has

been discussing its boards, commissions, and committees, and during the October
10, 2022, work session directed staff to facilitate the formation of a Council
subcommittee to further evaluate the selection process, membership requirements,
onboarding of new members, and the liaison role.
Section 9.3.5 of the Council's Operating Policies and Procedures provides that the
Council may nominate and appoint certain ad hoc committees or task forces to
carry out a particular project or task the term of which expires once the particular
task is completed. Recommendations and information from the subcommittee will
be brought back to the Council for discussion. Council direction may later be
incorporated into the annual review of the Council's Operating Policies and
Procedures.
