ACCEPTANCE OF PROJECT P31066, East Horace Street Improvements.
ACTION
REQUESTED:
Adopt or reject the following resolution:
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS IN EAST HORACE
ST IMPROVEMENTS P31066.
ISSUE
STATEMENT:
The work on this project has been completed by the Developer, Bruce Wiechert
Custom Homes, Inc. and their contractor Delta Construction. The City Staff and
Developer's consulting Engineer, The Favreau Group, LLC, have completed a final
inspection, paperwork, and approval. The project is now ready for the formal City
Council acceptance.

DISCUSSION/
The East Horace Street Improvements project consists of half -street paving and
FINANCIAL
sewer installation for the south half of Horace Street near Filbert Lane to allow for
IMPACT:
new apartment construction.
All construction work has been paid for by the Developer Bruce Wiechert Custom
Homes, Inc. and constructed by Delta Construction Co.
All work done under the permit project has been completed and inspected by the
City Engineer or his designee and has been found to be satisfactory. This project
has no final construction cost, as it was privately engineered, built, and financed.
There is no financial impact to the City other than typical future maintenance
responsibilities for public infrastructure.

RESOLUTION NO.
ACCEPTANCE
WHEREAS, work on the improvement described below has been fully completed and has been
duly inspected by the City Engineer of the City of Springfield: P31066, East Horace Street
Improvements Public Improvement Project;
WHEREAS, said work was found to be in conformance with the terms of the Public
Improvement Permit and plans submitted by the Engineer of Record and approved by the City
Engineer; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Engineer that this Public Improvement Project
be accepted and permanently included in the improvement maintenance program of the City of
Springfield.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SPRINGFIELD:
Section 1: The Common Council of the City of Springfield does hereby accept for
future maintenance the above-described project and accepts said improvement from the
Developer involved.
Section 2: This Resolution will take effect upon adoption by the Council and
approval by the Mayor.
ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Springfield this 6t" day of September
2022, by a vote of for and against.
