SUITE A EUGENE, OREGON 97402 541.513.3376 The following provides the trip generation estimate for the proposed Willamette Valley Oregon Temple, located an International Way in Springfield, Oregon. The proposed use is a 29,630 sf Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -Day Saints. The site is open Tuesday through Saturday and closed Sunday and Monday. As per SDC 4.2-105, a Traffic Impact Analysis is required when a site will generate 100 or more trips during the weekday AM or PM peak hours or 1000 weekday average daily trips, following procedures in the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Trip Generation Manuals. The current edition, the 111h Edition, of the ITE Manuals was referenced for this study. The ITE Manuals do not have trip rates specifically for a Temple use. Data is provided for other places of worship: • 560 -Church • 561 -Synagogue • 562 -Mosque The temple is similar in uses to each of these land uses as it provides places, classrooms, small office space, and meeting space. The AM and PM peak hour trip rates for each of these uses are averaged to provide a trip rate per thousand square feet applicable to this development proposal. Table 1 provides the trip rates for the available ITE land uses. TABLE 2: TRIP GENERATION Time Period I Size Rate Trips AM Peak Hour 29.63 1.4 40 PM Peak Hour 29.63 1.5 46 Average Daily 29.63 7.6 225 As demonstrated, the AM and PM peak hours are below the 100 -trip threshold, and the daily trips are below the 1,000 trip threshold for requiring a Traffic Impact Analysis per SDC 4.2-105. Therefore, a TIA is not required for this project. SANDOW ENGINEERING
