Dear Mr. Phillips:
This letter will confirm our conversation concerning your property
located at 155 North 18th Street. As lve discussed, I received
a complaint about the storage yard behind your building. In
reviewing the City records I was unable to locate any information
about when your business began use of this site. I understand
from our conversation that you moved onto the property in L982,
prior to the adoption of the Springfield Development Code (1986)
and the property was in commercial use by another business at that
time.
Based on this information I concurred that Site PIan Review was
not required for your property at this time. However, the storage
yard located behind your building would stilI need to be screened
from other properties around you. You agreed to provide slatting
in the existing chain link fence.
You requested 50 days to accomplish this screening and that has
been agreed to by staff. I will schedule to inspect the site on
December 10, 1991 to verify the slats have been installed. If
you finish the screening earlier, please contact me and I will
inspect the site sooner.
