Itm vriting in regard to the preliminary inspection conducted by the Springfield
Building Division relative to the proposed work to be performed on the dwelling
located at the above referenced address,.
The enclosed items sha]I not be construed as a complete list of Housing Cod.e vio-
lations, but rather as a supplemental list to your existing report detailing de-
ficiencies and corrective acti-ons necessary. These items shal1 be included as
part of the original report and corrective action sha1l be necessary for obtain-
ing substantial eompliance to the Uniform Housing Cod.e (U.H.C.) as adopted by the
City of Springfield.

The p1i:mbing system is bad.Iy deteriorated and has been improperly maintained, and'
falls into the category of hazardous phxnbing as described in Section 1001 (f) of
the Uniform Housing Cod,e as adopted. by the City of Springfield. Although the ex-
isting plumbing may have met the standards of the Code that was in existence at
the time of its installation, alterations and./or improper maintenance require cor-
rections to be made in accordance with both the Uniform Housing Code as ad.opted
by the City of Springfield and the current Oregon State Plumbing Specialty Code
(p.s.c.).
1) A3/\ inch fullway gate valve sha11 be installed. on the diseharge side of
the water meters. P.S.C. 1OO5 (b)
2) Pressure relief valve shal1 ne 3/l+" gate valve shut off at water heater.
